Our Love Story

Our story started thousands of miles apart, connecting my life in the U.S. with hers in the Philippines. I was not specifically looking for a Filipina; I simply wanted to find someone who was a perfect fit for me, held great values, and had a big heart. The true turning point of my life happened last year in October.

I stepped off the plane in the Philippines for the very first time. My heart was pounding with a mix of jet lag and pure excitement. The moment I saw her waiting in the crowd, the vast distance between us completely melted away. Spending the next month together—meeting her family, exploring the beautiful sights, trying local foods, and experiencing the legendary warmth of Filipino hospitality—made me feel like I was right where I belonged.

Sharing those real-life moments confirmed everything I had already felt online.

I wanted to do things the right way, so I asked her parents, pastors, family, and friends for permission to court her.

However, the girl I loved kept telling me, "Let’s just be friends." Those words did not stop me. Instead, I stayed consistent and persistent, proving that my intentions were real.

I chose to show her my commitment by making multiple 10,000-miles trips back and forth from my home.

Before heading home at the end of that very first visit, on November 15, 2025, at the Chili Restaurant with his brother and sister before we left in the restaurant, I asked her to be my girlfriend, I was anxious at the time, but I was also scared that she might not accept me as her boyfriend, but thanks to God Marilyn said yes, hehe, and yes, we became a couple.

Eventually, that beautiful friendship grew into an incredible romance. We traveled from North to South, trying new foods and visiting new places. Both of us experienced things we had never done before.

Saying goodbye at the end of each trip was always the hardest part, but it also made us completely certain about our future. On one of my visits back to the Philippines, I asked her to marry me—and hearing her say "YES!" made it the best day of my life. Now, as we prepare for her to become my wife, that first visit stands as the beautiful moment our two different worlds officially became one.
