Our Love Story
Joshua had been working in the same company for almost ten years, while Mary had been there for almost four. They were in the same department, but somehow, they barely crossed paths.
Joshua is naturally introverted and keeps to himself. When he has free time, he would rather rest, sleep, or simply enjoy his own space. Mary, on the other hand, is much more outgoing. They were very different, and neither of them expected that their paths would eventually lead them here.
It all started during Holy Week.
They were both supposed to be on leave for the entire week, but somehow, they both decided to work on Thursday. It was WFH, and it came with double pay, so they thought, why not?
That day, Mary reached out to Joshua because she needed to consult him about a client.
It was just a normal work conversation for Mary. But for Joshua, hearing her voice for the first time somehow caught his attention. Something about it stayed with him. He found himself wanting to know who she was, and later that night, he couldn't sleep because he kept thinking about her.
So, he did what any curious person would do. He started looking for her online.
Eventually, he came across one of Mary's stories where she had gone out alone to watch a movie. That became the start of their conversations.
As they talked, they discovered that they had more in common than they expected, especially when it came to their faith and their relationship with the Lord. Their conversations slowly became deeper. They talked about God, faith, life, ministry, dreams, and the things that mattered most to them.
Joshua wanted to get to know Mary more and tried several times to ask her out.
Mary said no.
More than once.
He kept trying to build a friendship and make his intentions clear, while Mary kept declining. At that point, she wasn't interested in going out with him.
But they continued talking.
Eventually, Joshua wanted to meet Mary in person, not simply through messages, but to genuinely get to know her and let her know that his intentions were serious.
Mary still kept saying no.
Until one day, she had a dream about him.
And somehow, that dream became the reason she finally agreed to meet him.
When they finally met, they discovered even more things they had in common. They were both firstborns. And by around December 2024, they had both been engaged, each expecting to get married in 2025.
But those chapters did not turn out the way they expected.
Both of them experienced endings that they never thought would happen. And instead of immediately trying to fill what was lost, they both chose to step back and focus on the Lord, on their own lives, their faith, their healing, and their ministry.
They didn't know it then, but God was already doing something in both of their lives.
The Promise of Restoration
On July 19, 2025, around the same time, they both received a promise from the Lord about restoration.
It was found in Joel 2:25–27, where God says that He would restore what had been lost to the swarming locust, the hopping locust, the stripping locust, and the cutting locust.
That promise became deeply meaningful to both of them.
But restoration was never simply about finding another person or being in another relationship.
It was about life.
It was about restoring what had been lost in their faith, their joy, their purpose, their dreams, and the things they thought were already gone.
They both held on to the promise that God could restore what they had lost and bring beauty out of seasons that once felt broken.
For Joshua, another verse that had become meaningful to him was Proverbs 18:22, which speaks of a man finding a wife and receiving favor from the Lord. It was a verse he had encountered and held on to in his own journey with God.
For Mary, around July 14, 2025, during one of the darkest seasons of her life, she received a promise through Genesis 18:10:
“About this time next year, I will return and fulfill what I said.”
The promise reminded her of God's word to Sarah, that He would return at the appointed time and fulfill what He had promised.
At the time, she didn't think much of it. She knew that God's timeline was different from hers, and she simply chose to trust Him.
Later came Genesis 21:1–2, where God fulfilled His promise to Sarah exactly as He had said.
The Lord kept His word.
He did exactly what He had promised.
And looking back now, those verses mean so much more to them than they could have understood at the time.
Because God had been working long before they realized it.
He was working in the endings.
He was working in the waiting.
He was working in the healing.
He was working in the restoration.
And somehow, He was bringing two people together who were simply trying to follow Him.
And Here They Are
Their story was never just about how two people met.
It is a story about God's faithfulness.
About how He can take seasons of loss and turn them into seasons of restoration.
About how He can lead two people through completely different journeys and, in His perfect timing, bring them into the same chapter.
And through it all, one thing remained true:
***God is faithful to His promises.***
Their story is a testament to the truth in Numbers 23:19:
“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”
Looking back, they can see His faithfulness in every season. He was faithful in the waiting, in the endings, in the restoration, and in bringing them to this moment.
What started with a simple work conversation became a friendship, then a love story, and now, by God's grace, a marriage.
They are grateful for every promise He has fulfilled and every step that brought them here.
And now, they are excited to begin this next chapter together.
They’re tying the knot, and they’re so excited to celebrate this beautiful beginning with you.***
The rest is history, and they know the best is yet to come.
