She was a young girl in a dress, while he was just a little boy na probably naka-sando with a cartoon character pa. She never missed a youth camp growing up, while he never missed a chance to play outside with friends. Two different kids. Two different worlds. But who would’ve thought that those two separate paths would eventually lead to one beautiful love story?

It all started on a simple day. Dumaan siya sakay ng tricycle with her father for a home visitation. Nothing special — just an ordinary day. But then, she saw a little boy leaning by the wall. Saglit lang silang nagkatinginan, just one simple glance. Wala silang idea that God was already writing something so beautiful for them. For her, he was just that little boy with a birthmark on his face.

As years passed, life happened. He started joining cell groups and eventually attending church. And that’s when she saw him again — the same little boy she remembered. What used to be just a familiar face slowly turned into friendship. He became the shy younger boy who called her “Ate,” while she was serving in ministry and leading cell groups attended by his sisters. Sometimes, she would even ask him for small favors whenever needed.

What she didn’t know was that while all of that was happening, admiration was already quietly growing in his heart. Every time he watched her serve in the praise team — through every song, every note, every harmony — he found himself liking her more. But because he was too shy, he didn’t say it directly. Instead, a mutual friend ended up revealing his feelings. And surprisingly, hearing that gave her butterflies too.

From spin the bottle moments, teasing questions answered only with smiles, and one random conversation about a bass guitar, something slowly started to change. From awkward friend requests to late-night conversations, what started as simple friendship became something deeper. And through it all, God was moving quietly in between.

She used to joke before that if there was no Pinoy for her, maybe afam nalang. But clearly, God had other plans. What started through ministry, church services, and friendship became a love story built on faith, grace, and a relationship centered on Jesus.

On August 15, 2022, he formally asked permission from her parents to pursue her heart.

Soon after, their relationship became official. And like every real love story, it wasn’t always all sweet moments, kilig, and perfect days. There were challenges, misunderstandings, and storms too. But in every season, God stayed faithful. He continued to guide the love story that He Himself had written.

Then came a moment they would never forget. At Philippine Arena, what was once just a famous landmark became something much more meaningful. It became the place where a forever promise was made.

After three beautiful years together, on February 16, 2026, he got down on one knee and asked the question that changed everything. It was the moment their story turned into a promise of forever. And with one heartfelt answer — “Yes” — the next chapter began.

What started as a simple glance on a random day became a testimony of God’s perfect timing. To her, he was no longer just the little boy with a birthmark. And to him, she was no longer just the “Ate” from church.

They are now two people who once walked different paths, but are now choosing to walk side by side — hand in hand, with God at the center.
